Why donate
The Vanier Institute of the Family operates primarily on the revenues of an endowment fund started when the Institute was created. However, to ensure long-term sustainability of the endowment, the annual draws are limited. Additional gifts made by donors—individuals, foundations, and businesses—allow us to extend our work beyond the limits of our endowment draws and increase our impact.

Frequently asked questions
To ensure the security of our donors, the Vanier Institute partners with Canada Helps for processing of online donations. This partnership also keeps our administration costs low. Canada Helps is an independently registered Charity that specializes in donations management. Your donation will be processed through their secure forms, and receipted by them as a gift to Canada Helps. They then transfer your donation to the Vanier Institute, retaining 5% of the donation to cover their costs.
Yes. The Institute continues to welcome donations of $1,000 or more to be directed to our perpetual endowment. Contributing to the endowment helps to ensure the long-term impact of the Vanier Institute in supporting the wellbeing of families in Canada, in all of their broad and evolving diversities.
To designate your gift to the endowment, please include a note to that effect when you make the donation. The Institute cannot redirect donations after they have been received.
