Nora Galbraith is a senior analyst in the Centre for Demography at Statistics Canada. She manages the Centre’s Family Demography Program and serves as the agency’s lead subject matter analyst for census content related to families, households, and marital status. Prior to her current role, Nora worked in the National Population Projections team in the Centre for Demography, where she contributed to the development of new assumption-building methodologies and gained an in-depth knowledge of trends in the various components of population change in Canada. Nora has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in the areas of family demography and applied demography. She completed her MA in Sociology at the University of Western Ontario with a focus on historical demography. She has a special interest in applying a long-range lens to the analysis of families and enjoys digging through the archives of early census publications to unearth treasures.
