Transparency Statement
The Vanier Institute of the Family is a federally registered, charitable, non-profit corporation in Canada.
The Vanier Institute of the Family operates independently of any government, corporation, or interest group. Funding for the Vanier Institute’s expenses comes primarily from earnings of an endowment fund created by the Institute’s founders. The endowment funds are managed on the Board’s behalf by a third-party investment counsel and are invested according to strong environmental, social, and governance principles.
The Vanier Institute receives donations each financial year from individuals, foundations, and companies in support of its charitable purposes. All gifts are received according to our Donation Acceptance Policy, and do not compel or direct the work or the findings of the Institute. The Institute will disclose within any publication if that publication is being made with the direct financial support of any third party (individual, foundation, corporation, or government).
The Vanier Institute makes every effort to ensure the intellectual independence of partner agents. It cannot, however, be held accountable or liable for research outcomes or publications of its partners.
The Board of Directors of the Vanier Institute are volunteers and are appointed through a robust nominations process.
