Eva Jewell is Anishinaabekwe from Deshkan Ziibiing (Chippewas of the Thames First Nation) in southwestern Ontario, with paternal lineage from Oneida Nation of the Thames. Her research is in areas of Anishinaabe cultural/political reclamation, Indigenous experiences of work and care, and accountability in reconciliation. Eva is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Toronto Metropolitan University and Research Director at Yellowhead Institute, an Indigenous-led policy think tank that produces critical perspectives in support of Indigenous jurisdiction.
