About
Affiliates Network
The Vanier Institute of the Family’s Affiliates Network brings together people committed to advancing knowledge and understanding of families in Canada, in all their diversities. It includes researchers, educators, government employees, and leaders of organizations whose work supports the wellbeing of families.
Affiliates represent each component of the Family Diversities and Wellbeing Framework, which allows users to easily find experts according to their needs and interests:
- Family Structure: How people are linked to form families
- Family Work: How paid and unpaid work are distributed in families
- Family Identity: How family identities are constructed
- Family Wellbeing: Material (what people have), relational (people’s satisfaction with their social connections), and subjective (how people sense their goals and aspirations are aligned with their experiences)
Each member of the Affiliates Network brings expertise that the Institute relies upon to inform discussions, reports, and information-sharing related to family life and family wellbeing. The Network offers a trusted source of evidence-informed perspectives and insights from diverse backgrounds and geographic locations across Canada, providing a resource for media, policymakers, and educators.
