On March 27 and 28, 2019, the Vanier Institute of the Family hosted the Families in Canada Conference 2019 – a pan-Canadian conference based in Ottawa with simultaneous satellite events co-hosted by university partners across the country.

More than just a conference, this unique and inclusive series of events brought together people with lived experience and diverse leaders who study, serve and support families for two days of research, knowledge-sharing and engaging conversation focused on our conference theme – THINK BIG: How can we use “Big Data” to inform and inspire big ideas to optimize family well-being in Canada?

The conference may be over, but our work has just begun! In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing a variety of content (e.g. photos, video, transcripts) from the #FAM2019 conference, which will be made available on our website and YouTube channel.

We’ll be continuing the conversation as we move beyond the conference and into the development of new initiatives and resources, such as the Canadian Index of Family Well-Being, Canadian Family Researchers Network, Social Policy Monitor and more — sign up for the Vanier Institute eNews for updates and announcements!

Below you can find some preliminary photos, social media content and feedback from the Families in Canada Conference 2019. Much more to come – stay tuned!
