Sustainable Development Goal 15:
Life on Land
Regardless of who they are or where they live, all families in Canada rely on life on land for their sustenance and well-being. Many Canadians take great pride in the natural beauty found from coast to coast to coast – it’s a part of our common heritage. More importantly, plant and animal life across the country play a significant role in keeping families and communities fed, and local and regional economies flourishing. Moreover, they will help to mitigate the impact of climate change in the years to come.
With such an important role in the well-being of families and communities in Canada, our relationship to life on land is essential to sustainable development efforts. Environmental protection and careful resource management will be crucial in ensuring that families of today and tomorrow continue to benefit from this relationship.
