Today is National Caregiver Day, a time when we recognize Canadians who care for others. Perhaps more than ever, the past year has underscored the importance of caregivers to families, communities and society.
Experiences in Caregiving: exploring diverse realities
To recognize caregivers in Canada and highlight their experiences, Carers Canada has partnered with the Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation to launch the “Experiences in Caregiving” campaign, which showcases their diverse stories, as well as organizations that support them.
Visit the Carers Canada website to see the video statements from Prime Minister Trudeau and Minister Hajdu. Read profiles of caregiver experiences from over 30 individuals, including federal and provincial members of parliament, young caregivers and many others, and learn how technology is addressing some of the challenges caregivers face due to COVID-19.
Carers Canada has also produced an infographic exploring caregivers’ experiences with technology during COVID-19, which explores their well-being and support during the pandemic, and their use of technology to manage care responsibilities.
