Marie Vaillancourt retired in 2020 after working for more than 40 years in the financial world. Marie’s first involvement with the Vanier Institute was as the outside member of the Investment Committee in 1993. She later joined the Board, serving from 1995 to 2001, then returning in 2004 to serve for another six years.
For 10 of those 12 years, Marie served as Treasurer, acting as the financial conscience of the Institute, bringing a solid fiscal discipline to the organization’s financial affairs as well as its programming initiatives. She has the unique distinction of being the first “second generation” Vanier Institute board member. Her years of service, combined with those of her mother, have resulted in more than 30 years of dedication to the Institute by the Vaillancourt family. This dedication was acknowledged in 2012, when both received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of their involvement with the Vanier Institute.
