Malcolm Johannesen (Vice Chair)

Malcolm currently serves as Director of Coordination Agreements with Child and Family Services at Indigenous Services Canada. Based in Alberta, he leads a distributed team dedicated to supporting Indigenous communities and groups across Canada who are exercising their inherent right of self-government in relation to child and family services. Following nearly 12 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, Malcolm has worked with diverse organizations, including Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, Service Canada, and the Correctional Service of Canada.

Malcolm’s volunteer work has focused on public safety and supporting military and Veteran families like his own. His roles have included Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre and Vice-Chair of the National Military Family Council, as well as Director of the Edmonton Garrison Military Family Resource Centre, and Director of the Edmonton John Howard Society. Malcolm holds a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Big Data and Analytics from the University of Fredericton and a Bachelor of Arts from the Royal Military College of Canada.
