Jerome Berthelette

Jerome Berthelette, BA, JD (Alumni Representative)

Jerome Berthelette first joined the Vanier Institute Board in 1990, where he contributed leadership skills developed through his extensive experience with Indigenous Friendship Centres and from within the federal government, and eventually served as President from 1996 to 1998.

Jerome was formerly Assistant Auditor General with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada, where he managed performance audits of National Defence, Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development, Veterans Affairs Canada, Human Resources and Development Canada, Economic Development, and Procurement and Asset Management.

During his time on the Board, the Institute benefited from his experience in working in the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch at Health Canada, as well as serving as Secretary to the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples and Executive Director of the National Association of Friendship Centres.
