Deborah Norris Receives 2018 Military and Veteran Family Health Research Award

Congratulations to Deborah Norris, PhD, recipient of the 2018 Colonel Russell Mann Military and Veteran Family Health Research Award!

Each year, the Vanier Institute of the Family recognizes high-quality Canadian research that increases our understanding of military and Veteran family health with the Colonel Russell Mann Military and Veteran Family Health Research Award, delivered annually at Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR) Forum events.

Dr. Norris was recognized at Forum 2018 as the lead author of Military Family Resilience/y: An Environmental Scan of Programs and Services. She and her research team used a broad and comprehensive search strategy to identify 327 programs and services focusing on resilience/y for military families in the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. The results of their work within a larger project are being used to put research into practice through the development of a model of military family resilience/y that can inform ongoing program and policy development for military families.
