November 30, 2022
On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, Statistics Canada published new content from the 2021 Census on education and commuting. These final major releases from the 2021 Census provide data and analyses on the growing proportion of Canadians with postsecondary education and on the changing dynamics of the labour force and how people get to work—topics that are both associated with family wellbeing.
The following census products are now available:
- Going to college after finishing a degree (infographic)
- Canada leads the G7 for the most educated workforce, thanks to immigrants, young adults and a strong college sector, but is experiencing significant losses in apprenticeship certificate holders in key trades (article)
This release builds on our growing understanding of the Family Work lens of the Vanier Institute’s Family Diversities Framework.
