Sustainable Development Goal 12:
Responsible Consumption and Production
Future generations deserve to thrive in healthy and sustainable environments, and providing this opportunity will require sustainable consumption and production patterns within families, communities and society.
This comprises reducing our material consumption of natural resources and combatting air, water and soil pollution – doing “more and better with less.” Other factors include promoting resource and energy efficiency, and providing access to basic services, green and decent jobs and a better quality of life for all.
Achieving this goal will require innovation, creativity and participation from all levels of society – not only governments and institutions, but also families and communities across Canada and around the world.
