Victor M. Duret, CPA, CA, IFA
Victor M. Duret joined the Vanier Institute’s Board of Directors in 2012, where he served as Treasurer until his election as Board Chair in 2015. As of June 2018, Victor serves as Past Chair.
Victor was a long-time Partner in the international accounting firm KPMG LLP, where he specialized in conducting investigations and providing strategic advice to both private and public sector clients on governance and compliance issues practically in times of stress.
Based in Ottawa, his practice took him across Canada and around the globe in dealing with matters of concern to his clients.
He believes strongly in the importance of family as the building block for our society and, with other Board members and Vanier staff, is focused on increasing the reach, relevance and rigour that is fundamental to the Institute’s contributions as envisioned by the Institute’s founders, the Right Honourable Georges P. Vanier and Pauline Vanier.
Active in his community, Victor has sat on numerous boards and currently, in addition to his role as Chair of the Vanier Board, he is the Treasurer of the Ottawa Art Gallery.
He is married to Hilary McCormack and is the proud father of two adult daughters.
