Benjamin Scott joined the Vanier Institute’s Board of Directors in 2014.
Ben is currently Director, Business and Community Solutions with Quality Program Services in Vancouver, BC, and is former Director of Reform and Innovation with the Department of Education, Culture and Employment, Government of the Northwest Territories (NWT).
Ben is also former Associate Director of Official Languages, where he was responsible for broad scope strategic planning and managing the provision of programs and services related to the protection and revitalization of official Indigenous languages of the NWT.
Ben is part of the first cohort to recently graduate with an MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership from Simon Fraser University. He was also a 2012–13 Action Canada Fellow, and he was a member of the task force behind the report “Who Cares About Young Carers: Raising Awareness for an Invisible Population.”
With his Tłı̨chǫ roots, Ben brings a unique perspective of life and living in Canada’s North as well as 10 years of public service experience coordinating, managing and now leading change and innovation. He takes pride in bridging diverse perspectives and building strategic partnerships to achieve common goals and solutions.
Ben comes from a family of 10, with six sisters and one brother, and has a growing number of nieces and nephews.
